Hi, I’m Shayna Carter, your Fraser Valley Nutritionist based in Mission and Abbotsford — and a mom, soon to be mom of two.
My story with nutrition started long before certifications or client sessions. As a child, I often felt like my body was working against me. I dealt with health complications and symptoms that never quite made sense. I’d go through all the tests and appointments, only to be told everything “looked fine.” But deep down, I knew something wasn’t.
It wasn’t until I became an adult and began to truly look at what I was eating — not just what I ate, but how food made me feel — that things started to shift. That awareness opened a new door: food wasn’t just fuel, it was communication. My body had been trying to tell me something all along.
Over the years, I experimented with it all — vegan, vegetarian, carnivore, paleo — searching for what truly worked. Every phase taught me something different. Some healed, some challenged, but all of them showed me that there’s no single “perfect” diet. What matters most is learning to listen — to your body’s signals, your energy, your digestion, your emotions.
When I finally started tuning in and uncovering the root causes of my symptoms, that’s when my health — and my purpose — began to align. That’s what led me here, helping others in the Fraser Valley find their own path toward better health and balance.

My Approach — Rooted in Compassion and Real Change
As a Fraser Valley Nutritionist, I believe that true health isn’t about restriction or perfection — it’s about reconnection. My work is grounded in helping people understand their bodies, their habits, and the messages behind their symptoms.
Food can be powerful medicine, but it’s also meant to be enjoyed. My approach blends education with empathy — teaching you how to make choices that feel both nourishing and realistic, so that health fits your lifestyle, not the other way around.
Healing isn’t about doing more — it’s about doing what matters most for you.
Lasting change takes time. That’s why I offer a 4-month nutrition program — a guided and supportive journey designed to help you create sustainable health from the inside out.
Over those four months, we’ll:
It’s structured, but flexible. Supportive, but empowering. And above all, it’s about helping you understand yourself more deeply — so that by the end, you’re not dependent on a plan, but confident in your own choices.
If you’re in Mission, Abbotsford, or anywhere across the Fraser Valley, this program is for you if you’re ready to stop guessing and start feeling good again.
When you work with me, you’re not just getting a meal plan — you’re getting a partner in your health journey.
Here’s what that looks like:
This work is about making nutrition feel simple, supportive, and truly personal.
Motherhood has completely reshaped how I see health. As a mom — and now expecting another little one — I understand firsthand how hard it can be to prioritize yourself when your energy and focus are constantly being pulled in every direction.
The truth is, your body changes after having children. Your hormones shift, your metabolism adjusts, your needs evolve — and that’s okay. The key is learning how to support yourself in this new season instead of fighting against it.
That’s why my approach is gentle and realistic. I’ll never hand you a list of rules or tell you to give up everything you love. Instead, we’ll build a plan that supports your energy, your mood, and your ability to show up — for yourself, and for your family. Because nourishment shouldn’t feel like another task on your list. It should feel like care.
If you’re ready to feel more energized, more balanced, and more connected to your body, I’d love to walk with you.
Whether you’re in Mission, Abbotsford, or anywhere across the Fraser Valley, my goal as your Fraser Valley Nutritionist is simple: to help you find clarity, peace, and confidence through food — without the pressure of perfection.
You deserve to feel at home in your body again. To trust its cues, to eat with ease, and to feel supported in your health journey — not stuck in confusion.
My 4-month nutrition program is a chance to finally make that happen — with structure, guidance, and compassion at every step.
If this sounds like your next right step, I’d love to connect. Reach out to start the conversation — and let’s begin building a foundation for long-term health and confidence, together.
