If you’ve been feeling overwhelmed by change, you might find yourself holding on to what used to work — even when it no longer fits. Trust me, I get it — I’m right there too.
Lately, I’ve been sitting with what it feels like to be pulled in so many directions at once.
Some of them are directions I absolutely love and crave — the ones that light something up inside me. Others are the ones I’m responsible for — the ones that require my attention, care, and energy, even when my heart feels called elsewhere.
There’s an undeniable excitement and joy in all of it, but also a quiet ache. A shift in rhythm. The routines and rituals that once grounded me suddenly don’t seem to fit anymore.
It’s so human to keep doing what we’ve always done when life feels full or overwhelming — to cling to what’s familiar. Yet sometimes, life asks us to completely rewrite our rhythm. To build new rituals that match the season we’re in, not the one we’ve already outgrown.
Change is not easy.
Change is unknown.
And change often leads us straight into discomfort.
But it’s also where growth begins to take root.
Right now, I’m in the middle of a big transition — moving out of a home that has held so much love, growth, and memory. I’m moving to a town I’ve never lived in before, returning to the rental world (which brings up its own stories and reminders), while also building something I’ve dreamt of since I was a teenager: a farm and ranch that feels like a sanctuary.
At the same time, I’m building my dream collective — a space rooted in community, where no one has to walk their healing journey alone. A space where counselling and wellness are accessible and affordable throughout BC.
And yet… even amidst the gratitude and excitement, there’s this quiet confusion about why everything feels so tender.
But as I slow down and listen, I realize: it’s because I’ve been trying to approach this new chapter with the tools and rhythms that worked before. And this season asks for something different.
What I’m stepping into is bigger than anything I’ve done before — not just in vision, but in heart. It’s asking me to honour my energy differently. To create new rituals that support my nervous system, my spirit, and the deep, beautiful change unfolding within me.
Because it’s okay to not do it the same way anymore.
It’s okay to create something new that honours where I am — not where I’ve been.
